Your TSM client node DATA.BESTGRID.ORG has been put on a TSM server schedule
to commence backup at 19:00 every night. Is 19:00 a good start time?
In order for the association of the client node with the schedule to become “active”, it is
necessary for the client SysAdmin (you) to stop and restart the TSM client daemon.
ps –ef | grep dsm
should display the TSM client daemon running on your machine. This process can be killed.
Restarting the daemon – somewhere in the system startup suite there will be an entry
similar to:
/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsmc sched -quiet >/var/tmp/dsmc_sched.log 2>&1 &
This command can be used ad-hoc to restart TSM daemon.
Before you do this plse let me know if 7pm is OK. – Any changes I make to the schedule will also require
a restart of TSM at your end, so let’s get the schedule finalised first.
